Market Street Stamps Guest Design post 1

HEY EVERYONE This is Raven from http://www.love4stamps.blogspot.com/ !!! I am so excited today because I will be guest designing a few times this month for the fabulous and ever so talented Market Street Stamps blog. :) YAY!!!

Okay so I've been mulling it over and thought I would make something for the kids. Games are really big at our house we are always playing some type of game. But...we needed a math game that was remotely fun! Yeah they don't have any out on the market these days. SO...through need comes an idea. And here she is our homemade math board game with a wicked awesome spinner and all!!!

Just as an fyi its not the easiest thing to photograph a board game! Especially one that is laminated to keep it sticky hands free. lol

So I LOVE this game board. We will be going on quit a few road trips soon and this is a perfect keep in the car game for my back seat passengers!!!!

So this is what I did:

1. Took a thick white card stock piece of 8.5x11 stamped all over it using the stars from the awesome Blast Off (Market Street) stamp set using blue, yellow, orange and green ink.
2. Then stamped and colored the rocket ship with oil pastels. Thought they would melt in the laminator and give it a cooler look but this didn't happen so you can color with something else of course.
3. Found a circle that was the size I wanted (4 1/8) and cut it out (You can always use a cricut for this). Then divided it into four sections with my handy dandy pencil and ruler. Colored each piece with oil pastels again. Once the pastels were blended stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink the sentiments from Blast Off onto each section.
4. Mosied on over to my computer and in word made a graph and put in a bunch of math facts. Printed those out on green, yellow, orange and blue card stock and cut them apart. Used a zip two way pen to adhere the squares to the game board.
5. Once the game pieces were in place I took my circle and placed it where I wanted it on the game board.
6. Placed the entire thing in the laminator.
7. Using crop-a-dile punch a hole in the center of the window in the rocket as well as the center of the circle and connected the two with a brad. I should mention I did also laminate the rocket just for added stability.

It works perfectly! I cant wait til the kids come home so they can play a game.
