Hey everyone! Julie Day here with card featuring the new set Night Owls and some brayering! Here is what the finished card looks like and if you scroll down I'll show you how to get that moon background using ink, a brayer and a post it note :)
To start off you need a three ink colors; an orange and two shades of purple. I used Stampin' Up! colors, but any brand will do. Cut a piece of white cardstock 4 3/4" x 5". Starting with the orange color, brayer ink down the whole length of the cardstock starting at the top.
Cut a circle from a post it note and stick it to your brayered orange piece. Next, brayer your lighter purple color part way down the panel starting at the top, but don't cover the orange color completely.
Brayer your darker purple at the top, just a little way down the panel.
When you remove the post it note circle, it should look something like this:
Next take some black ink and sponge all the edges. I used a circular motion with my sponge to blend the ink a bit.
To make the owl, I stamped him/her several times on different colors of cardstock and then pieced them together. The branch was stamped on black and cut out as well.
Glue the branch on the panel and then stamp the owl sitting on top of the branch so you get his/her feet.
Adhere the paper pieced owl in place over the stamped owl using foam mounts and stamp the sentiment. For some added touches I wrote "hoot, hoot" with a marker and stapled a ribbon loop to the side of the sentiment.

More gorgeous brayering! Love it and thanks for the tutorial! :)
