Quilt Stars for Christmas

Hi there, Julie here with a quick and simple way to make a stamped quilt star card using the Country Christmas set.

Here's what you'll need.

* red and green ink, plus a neutral

* black ink

* 2 blocks

*sponge

* solid square, solid triangle, cross stitch row and square and sentiment from Country Christmas set

* scrap and cardstock colors that match your ink, plus white cardstock

First start by inking up your solid square with red ink and stamp off once on scrap paper.

 Stamp your cross stitch square in the same color as the solid square.

Stamp kiss the cross stitch pattern onto the solid square, your stamp image should look like this:

Stamp your square in the middle of your white piece of cardstock. Don't worry about getting it perfectly straight, you can trim up the piece straight after you are finished.

Repeat the same process with the solid triangle and stamp around the edges of the square. The only thing you don't have to do is re-ink the cross stitch pattern, just stamp kiss it to the triangle. You should have a diamond shape after this step.

Next you are going to go back in with triangle stamp kissed with a green color to finish off the quilt star. Your image should look like this when you're finished.

At this point you can straighten up your square if needed by trimming it. Stamp your sentiment across the center of the star with black in. The 'Primitive Blessings' sentiment fits perfectly between the two side points.

Next I sponged the neutral color on the edges of the white piece and on the edges of both the red piece and card base. Adhere the white panel to the red panel and then using the cross stitch strip, stamp the image half on the white edge and half on the red to make it look like it is stitched. I used the red color to do this.

And here is what the final card looks like!
