Hi everyone! It's Brenda here with you today!

You know, Autumn will be here in just a few more days, and Market Street Stamps has you covered with cute stamps for the Fall season.

I used a couple of my favorites to make this card to share with you today.

The Gingham background stamp is perfect for the cool weather seasons. It reminds me of a warm, cozy, fleece blanket. And, of course you need some leaves and pumpkins for Autumn. I love the pumpkin in the Autumn Greeting set. I stamped mine onto polka dot patterned paper, because I love polka dot pumpkins! :)

I wanted to do something a little different with this card, so I cut a circular opening in the front of my card and stamped the Gingham background onto the front of a folded sheet of vellum and sewed it inside the card so the Gingham peeks through the front. The extra sheets of vellum inside provide more space for writing your message.

And now I'm in the mood for a glass of apple cider and a slice of pumpkin pie! Which reminds me. I have some of that in my fridge right now! The pie, that is. Mmmm....gotta go! I hear pie calling my name!

An Autumn Themed Thank You

Hello Market Street fans! 

My name is Tami Mayberry. I am a *huge* Market Street Stamps fan; and, I am super excited to have been asked to share one of my projects with you today. 

First off, I have to say that I dearly love Market Street Stamps for so many reasons! Not only is the service top notch, but, the quality is outstanding. Of course, the images and backgrounds are always a joy to play with as well. The only "bad" part is having to decide just which one to use! 

For my card I chose both an image set and a background stamp. For the image I decided to use something from my very first Market Street Stamps set-Gone Campin' Then I decided to combine that with a background from the newest release- Gingham Background.

Together they make a great outdoorsy combination perfect for Autumn.

Below is the thank you card I came up with:

Supplies: Stamps: Market Street Stamps (Gone Campin, Gingham Background); Card stock: Bazzill;  Markers: Touch Twin by Shinan; Dies: Spellbinders; Baker's Twine: The Twinery

I started by making the multicolored gingham background. I stamped the gingham background in brown and then used the fine point of my Touch Twin markers and a ruler to highlight the edges of the lines. It was quite similar to this technique posted here on the blog. The only difference is that I only made one line on each stripe and lined every side rotating between 2 colors. I trimmed that to fit my card base but didn't adhere it until everything was layered on. I typically build everything on a single panel and then adhere it to the base last so that the inside of the card remains clean.

Using the gingham print as my base, I layered on some gold and dark red card stock. I scored the edges of the gold with my Scor-pal to help define the edges and stamped the red with the gingham background stamp and brown ink. I wrapped the panel with some matching twine from The Twinery and secured the ends to the back of the panel with Scor-Tape. 

I stamped the greeting (Gone Campin) on gold card stock and cut it out with an older Spellbinders die. I tied some more twine through the opening so that it would look as if it were part of the pieces I wrapped around the panel. Next I attached the tag with foam tape and added 3 matching pearls. 

For the main image, I stamped the fire and marshmallows from the Gone Campin set on a piece of white card stock with the stick placed at a slight angle. I then stamped the images onto another piece of white card stock, colored them with my Touch Twin markers, cut them out and adhered them to the first image to give it a more raised effect. I cut the whole thing out with a square die and matted it with gold card stock. I used foam tape to attach the panel at a slight angle so that the stick was horizontal and the panel balanced out the tag a the bottom. For my last step, I adhered the completed panel to the card base. 

Super easy! :)

Fun with Gingham!

Hey, everyone! It's Brenda here with my very first post here on the Market Street blog. I'm so excited and happy to be here!

I am loving the fabulous new stamps from this month's release! How about you? Got a favorite? My favorites seem to be the awesome Market Street background stamps. They are wonderful! I can't get enough of them! The idea for this tutorial came to me while I was playing around with the new Gingham background stamp set and I couldn't wait till it was my turn to share here on the blog.

The Gingham background stamp is great on its own, but why not have some fun and take it a step further?
Plaids are hot right now (aren't they always?), and I thought how fun it would be to use that fab Gingham background stamp to make some fun plaid designs.

Here's what you'll need:

The Gingham background (of course)
an ink pad (I'm using a very dark brown)
some markers with two different size tips in colors to coordinate with your ink pad
a ruler

Here's what you do:
ink up your stamp and stamp onto a piece of card stock of your choice.


Take one of your markers, and using the broad tip and the ruler, begin drawing lines along the grid of the gingham design.


It should look something like this when you're done.


Now flip your paper and begin drawing lines going the other way.


Like this.


Now take your second marker, and using the fine tip, draw lines close to the lines you've just drawn with the other marker. My lines will be hard to see because I'm using a yellow marker.


Flip your paper again and draw lines going the other way. See that cool plaid? Fun, right?


Then I used it to make a simple card. I just love the plaid look. This one is perfect for the guys or for a fall card.


And the possibilities are virtually endless! Switch up your marker colors, the width of the tips, the amount of lines you draw, and how where you space them. I played around with a selection of markers and ink pads, and came up with several different designs, but I could have done a LOT more! Here are just a few that I came up with.

Use your imagination and just have fun with it!
