Adding Artsy to your Persimmons Studio Stamps :: Kim Geiser

Good Morning Thursday Warrior!

We are almost at the end of our week, and what a wonderful way to start wrapping it up!

I have a fun FOUR MINUTE video to share with you

 from our friend, Kim Geiser!

As you know, we have had SUCH a great time with her stamps, and last week, I thought it'd be fun to head down to her studio in Manitowoc, WI and see what she's been up to with her new line!

She used Woodland and Love stamp sets!

The fabulous watercolors she uses (in the glass bottles and cards) are from 

PEERLESS COLOR. 

They are made with no binders so they are pure pigment.

There is NO weird chalkiness once it dries and you can still see your ink lines beautifully.

Other supplies used:

• water soluable wax crayons (available at Hobby Lobby), 
• watercolor pencils 
• traditional cake-style watercolors (all available at your local arts & crafts store)
• Archival Ink for stamping
• Sharpies are Kim's doodling pen of choice
• white pen - Sakura Gelly Roll pens - they are super opaque and fast-drying (available at Michaels or any other arts & crafts store)

Watch Kim as she adds simple extra doodles to her stamped images to give them the artsy look you'd find in one of her original paintings and mixed-media pieces.

Friends, it is SO simple to get this "Doodled" look that is so in right now.

THE BEST PART about it is that there is NO right way!

Have fun and don't be shy to embellish the lines any way you like!

Stephanie Muzzulin: I think Stephanie's aqua-colored fish is just perfect!! The scallop card shape really ties in with the bubbles!

Samantha Casey: Samantha's got her fishie swimming with the fabulous vine from the "Life is Beautiful" set. Isn't it adorable as seaweed?!

Jinny Newlin: What a ray of joy! Jinny's brought in one of my favorite color combos (Blue and Orange) and really emphazied the sweet sentiment included in this mini set by tying it up with a tag!

Stephanie Washburn: Steph's super-sweet layout puts the focus on the photo and what a gorgeous image to pair the whimsical "Imagine" stamp with!

Tifany DeGough: I love Tifany's bold colors and use of white space in this card. The "Imagine" stamp is scaled perfectly to BE the card!

Julie Day: This color-blocking technique was created by piecing different colors of paper together. It brings the perfect amount of color to a straight-stamped "Imagine".

Jen del Muro: Be still my heart. The panes Jen created with "Grow" are a perfect backdrop with the included "Grow" sentiment.

Brenda Weaver: I really adore Brenda's eye for color and placement. The pop of blue really made "Grow" bloom!

Stephanie Muzzulin: The included branch in "Woodland" makes the perfect prop for this cute owl!

Jinny Newlin: Jinny's interpretation of "Woodland" mixed with the "Life is Beautiful" is so bright and cheery - it could be framed and used as desk decor!

Ephemera Fest 2012 :: A Day in Kim Geiser's World

Happy Sunday, friends!!

Before I head to church this morning, I just had to share some photos with you all from yesterday's Ephemera Fest at Kim Geiser's Studio in Manitowoc, WI!

In case you missed our recent newsletter and our Facebook page, Kim will be bringing her whimsical and original illustrations to Market Street Stamps starting in June!

Sneak Peek week begins June 4th and Kim's stamps will be available June 7th, I just can't wait!!

Yesterday, I brought Kim stamps for her to play with, and she was THRILLED! Here we all are at the collaging table. Kim is in the top row, last one on the right with her hands way up in the air!! She is such a positive force to be around. I just loved hanging with her and the rest of these ladies.

Just some canvas stamping...Kim said, "These just make me HAPPY!"

(She is a fantastic polymer clay artist, too!)

 Pretty pendants...

 She had a bubble machine outside to draw people in...it worked!

 Visit Kim for Art Lounge every Thursday 6-9pm!

 So much to see, you can't help but get lost in all the details.

 Holly (Kim's English Setter) was there, but not to make art. She was quite cozy on the couch.

 Fun little artsy home. This project will be taught at one of Kim's classes she'll be teaching this summer. Stay tuned to her blog and our blog for links and more info on where you can sign up!
